This is my absolute favorite book to buy for the new babies, older siblings of new babies or birthday kids on my list. The illustrations are fantastic and include a few flip open to GIANT illustration pages as the never-fully-revealed Tickleoctopus teaches each member of the depicted cave family something formerly unheard of in their lives (to smile, to laugh, to play, etc)/5(9).

"The Tickleoctopus" is an extremely fun way to tell a story about people simply being happy. The strongest aspect of the story is how engaging it is for different types of learners. Each page is full of vibrant pictures for visual interaction.

The book itself is cut into a different shape and holes in pages make it appealing to tactile learners/5. Slightly larger that a standard sheet of paper, with an interesting peek-hole in the cover, The Tickle-Octopus is the perfect antidote for a case of the blah's.

A reader can't help but pick up this book. Everything from the thick, sturdy cover with way unusual edges, to the curiosity-inspiring title, to the delightfully primitive yet expressive illustrations just screams, "Read me!".

Pre-publication book reviews and features keeping readers and industry influencers in the know since then pretends it was all make-believe while the little boy lets the Tickleoctopus in through a window ""Tickle tickle tickle."" In search of some shred of plausibility (a requisite for fantasy too, after all), we looked at.

Children's book by Audrey Wood about the troubles of dealing with eccentric parents A wildly funny and affectionate story about how embarrassing our parents can be when we're children -- and why we love them anyway -- "Weird Parents" is a marvelously nutty book that will delight young and old alike.

I give this book a 5/5 because it is a great book for any age/grade. This story would be great for a teacher to use in the classroom if they are introducing a history topic about cavemen, Paleolithic time period, or the very first humans.

It would also be a great book to use to engage students and help them with predictions and asking questions/5(10). The kicker is ``a million years later'': A similar family sits in a dark room, bored but mesmerized by a flickering screen. Point made, with raucous good humor. (Picture book.
